The lottery was originally founded by the New South Wales government to raise money for hospital and infrastructure funding – most notably providing funding for the iconic Sydney Opera House. The Government continued running the lottery until Tatts Group acquired the operating license in 2010. During this time NSW Lotteries has created millions of winners across all divisions and contributed to charitable causes across the state.
In 2016, The Lott was born to unite Australia’s Official Lotteries; Tatts, Tatts NT, NSW Lotteries, Golden Casket and SA Lotteries. Together their history and experience creates Australia’s Official Lotteries for Australians to play their favourite lottery and Instant Scratch-Its games.
NSW Lotteries is proud to work closely with the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation and other Government regulators to ensure players have the best possible game experience.
